“Treble Maker’s ‘Derby Brain’ is a great resource for all roller derby skaters, especially newer skaters who are looking for help structuring their training and progress in ways that are encouraging and not overwhelming.
Combining mindfulness approaches with long term goal setting and tracking, the book will help any skater overcome the inevitable ruts and frustrations that come with developing in a constantly evolving sport.”
“In the opening of her book, Treble tells us she hopes this book will provide a light bulb moment that will help take your mental game to the next level. I know from experience the need to be resilient mentally, not just in Derby but in life and this book is a treasure trove of information.
Half way through the first chapter, I found myself writing down notes on how to stop my own negative thoughts and turn them into positive goals to work on. Just like mastering those cross overs, mental strength takes dedication and practice.
Treble gives us ways to break down those bigger derby goals (physical and mental) into smaller chunks. Using her trademark sense of humour and insight into all things derby, this book is a must read for any and every derby player.”
“I really enjoyed your eBook. Despite being packaged for rookie skaters, I need to take on so much advice.”

About the author
Hi, I’m Treble. I’ve been playing roller derby for over 4 years and now play for Central City Roller Girls in Birmingham.
I started out as the freshest Freshie; barely able to stand up for more than two minutes on my skates! My friends joked that I spent more time on my butt than on my feet.
But after some sweat, tears and dedication – and a few bruises too – I passed my minimum skills and became a fully fledged bouting skater!
Along the road, I picked up lots of tips for strengthening both body and mind of a Freshie skater and had a desperate urge to share that with other skaters, like you!
One insomnia-filled night, the knowledge I gathered could no longer be contained inside my little mind…. At roughly 2:30am, the blog was born and so started a journey of sharing everything I know about roller derby!
Ever since, I’ve been obsessed with reading about, researching, and listening to the best coaches talk about what makes a great skater then adding that to what I already know so that I can share that with my readers and friends.
I want to give as many people as possible the chance to love roller derby as much as I do and to be the skater they want to be.
